Moving forward, together

We all face seasons of transition: a new job, a reorg, illness, grief, or just the trials of raising a teenager. And when life gets difficult in one area, it bleeds right into the rest of our life – work, home, relationships. We don’t always like to talk about the dark or messy parts of transition, but they are so real. These places of uncertainty are the heart, the juiciest part of change; where the growth is. It is so much easier to travel through these passages with a guide, or a coach, to help you use your compass, read your map, turn on your flashlight, and find humor and joy along the way.

In my own seasons of change, I’ve learned the value of having a guide alongside of me. Let’s do this together.

Why Coaching?

At the mouth of the Columbia River, ships bring on experienced pilots to steer the vessel through the strong currents and shifting shoals. And on an expedition up Mt. Everest, climbers hire seasoned mountaineers to lead them across the icefalls. In our own lives we each face our versions of strong currents, shifting shoals and icefalls: change, grief, loss. When you face these difficult passages, wouldn’t it be easier with a guide? A coach to travel alongside you who truly understands life passages.

Coaching helps you with each phase of the passage: the ending of the old, the juicy middle and the new beginning.

Why Susannah?

I’m a coach for seasons of change – for passages and transitions. For the time of becoming and refining and discovering. For shedding and metamorphosizing. For the beginning of change when you can just faintly see the promise of it. For the middle of change where both the old and the new are in the fog and all you can see is right here. And for the transition into what’s next… when the old normal is fully wiped away and you are heading into your new place.

Through my years as a caretaker and now as a widow and single parent to three kids, I have learned to accept uncertainty, change, and loss. It was both impossible and yet also do-able. And now I help others find a path through their own passages.

When we work together, you will find your own wise inner self and develop your own insights and connections. Get comfortable living in the juicy middle.

Together we will create those lightbulb moments when you discover your own truth and get that nudge to do the thing that has been sitting in the back of your brain.

  • Get comfortable living in the in between,

  • Find your own path forward to thrive in your seasons of change

  • Power yourself forward on that path.

About Me

I am an executive and leadership coach and former finance professional who has worked in Fortune 500 companies, taken a career break to be home with my kids, returned to the workforce in financial consulting and then at a startup. I now focus my coaching on leaders and executives in seasons of transitions. I have an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Politics from Princeton University.

I’m also a widow and a mom of three kids. In the spring of 2014, my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. After five years of treatment, he passed away in the spring of 2019. My experiences with uncertainty, loss, and grief led to my path as a coach and deepened my understanding of the power of living according to your own values.

What else?

I’m a slow but steady hiker, an avid reader and a frequent baker. I’m on the board of a local food pantry, Middleton Outreach Ministry. On the weekends you’ll find me in the woods with my kids eating good snacks or sitting around the fire pit laughing with dear friends.  More than anything, I love connecting with people and helping them live their best lives.
